| They looked like this when I started ... |
I did not accomplish much this week in the miniatures department as I am on the verge of starting a new RPG campaign. Yes, Necessary Evil is winding down - more on that next week - so after some preliminary talk with the crew I spent the week poring over various rulebooks and adventures which meant I did about nothing with minis or computer games or anything else hobby-wise. More to come on that as well.
There was still some interesting news though. Photos of the long-rumored plastic warhound titan for 40k leaked - well, at least photos of one sprue leaked - so now that's a real thing. Speculation is that it's supposed to be the Christmas reveal this year. That's fine. Do I think 40K needs titans in the normal game? No. They already exist though as pricey Forge World resin models and they do have datasheets so this is not really "new" - more of an escalation in availability.
They're something like 1100 points currently and people say they are not worth it in a normal fight but I suppose if someone wanted to bring one it would be a great excuse to field my three Shadowswords. That said, in old school Epic, Warhounds come in pairs so I'm going to have to take a look when they start making official announcements.
In other news the Blood Angels got a terrible Christmas Battleforce this year:
Yep, 11 guys ...that's what $250 buys this year. Hopefully no one pays anything close to that because it's a weak weak deal. They are promising to release an updated Jump Chaplain datasheet in the December update because right now they aren't legal in this configuration - chaplains don't get inferno pistols. They have also apparently dropped the price to $210 now as well. Sure. Great.

| The current combat patrol for Blood Angels runs about $150 and is just better. |
We also got a new Corbulo model:

The new one is on the right. On the left is the classic 90's metal figure.

Well they did well here at least. I love the old one and I think it's a more energetic pose and look but at this point with recent Blood Angels releases a basic "they didn't screw it up" is a win. The hair looks a little weird to me and that collar is ... a choice (as the kids say), but I don't hate it. I'll be adding one of these into the force for sure.
More to come next week.
