O is for the One Ton Human!

First Appearance
One-Ton was one of my first CoH characters, probably my first Tanker (Invuln/Super Strength) because I had an easy inspiration:

That's the Human Ton from the Tick cartoon series. Anytime I can work in a homage to that I call it a win. I wasn't sure what to call him until Apprentice Twilight chimed in: "How about One Ton Human?" Bingo!

Origin
I took my version as being the post-Tick ton. After the traumatic "death" of Handy the Ton was really bummed and wandered about the countryside for a time in a search for meaning. One day he came upon a child being bullied and took action. The child thanked him and it felt good ... really good. So the Ton decided that maybe he should become a good guy and put a stop to all the meanness and bullying around him.

Personality
One Ton is a former bad guy trying to turn over a new leaf. He sticks up for the little guy and does not tolerate picking on children, pets, or old people well. he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer and can be a little quirky, but he seems to have a good heart and means well so people forgive the odd sense of humor and the property damage that occurs when he steps in.

Attributes

Prowess: 5 (Excellent) - he's really more about power than skill but he's not bad
Coordination: 3 (Typical) - pretty good for a big guy
Strength: 9 (Monstrous) - He's about the strongest guy he knows
Intellect: 3 (Typical) - slow but not stupid
Awareness: 3 (Typical) - a little bit oblivious for a superhero
Willpower: 4 (Good) - This is more mental inertia than any kind of training

Stamina: 13
Determination: 3

Origin: Birthright
Specialties: Wrestling, Leaping (he has pretty fine control over this), Area Knowledge - home city

Powers:
Invulnerability - 9 (Monstrous) - He is the closest thing to an immovable object that you're likely to find

Leaping 6 (Remarkable) - Makes it easier to get around in the city, but it can cause some property damage

Qualities:
"Unfazeable" - Nothing really phases the Ton, he's very much a here and now kind of guy. UFO's, Magic, talking gorillas - it's all fine by him.

Motivation:"Stand Up for the Little Guy" - The Ton hates bullies and tends to take a defensive position whenever he thinks someone is being picked on.

Clubbin' with the Ton

Challenges:
"Really Big Guy" - He weighs a ton! Big and Tall doesn't even begin to cover it! This is mainly a physical challenge but could come up as a social issue as well - it's not like his wardrobe is all that slick.

"Reformed Badguy" - One Ton doesn't really dwell on his past but it comes up occasionally with old allies and old enemies who don't know about his reform.

Notes: One Ton comes out to 45 points, showing that the book-recommended point total is not totally out of whack - it is possible to make a fun and effective character with that limitation. He's tough, he moves well, and he punches things hard. With 3 points of starting Determination he can pull off some stunts as well, which should make that much more interesting in play.

This character is one of the purest "homages" I've done - no big twist (other than making him a good guy) and he should be a fun guy to run.

Alien bullies will be punished as well

Notes: Here One Ton starts with the Powerhouse archetype and I've bumped him up to PL12 and added even more Strength and Toughness along with some Grab Advantages and his signature complications. I think he will be competitive and fun at this level and in this system as well. He could likely be rebuilt from scratch with several levels of growth as the core of his powers but this gets the job done. If I go back and do the growth version I will add it here.
